The New Tygart Flyer, Elkins, West Virginia

The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad, Inc. operates three tourist trains out of Elkins, WV and one out of Durbin, WV. The Elkins trains are the New tygart Flyer, a diesel powered run to the High Falls of the Cheat River; the Cheat Mountain Salamander, an 88-mile run to the High Falls and on to Cheat Bridge; and the Mountain Explorer, a dinner train to the High Falls. The Durbin trip is the Durbin Rocket, a Climax powered steam train along the Greenbrier River. The photos below are of a trip on the New Tygart Flyer in June 2011. The groups of photos are but a small sample of the highlights the trip.
